- As a Coffee Trainer, you are the driving force of education and development for the Wiesenhof Barista Academy and will report directly to and collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager. You will foster an atmosphere of learning for not only team members and guests, but yourself as well. You will help our teams connect with our mission and core values.
- Leading prescribed trainings on various coffee-related topics including introduction to coffee and practical barista skills.
- Supporting onboarding and leading new-hire training/orientation for teams
- Providing consistent in-service coaching to continuously improve performance in all areas related to coffee and hospitality - from communication with guests to retail coffee sales to barista skills.
- Serve as a mentor for trainees and baristas, assisting them with guest engagement programs, internal coffee education, and communication with management teams.
- Guaranteeing product quality by teaching and enforcing quality standards.
- Actively self-developing and seeking further knowledge to improve your own coffee and training skills.
- Some traveling between stores within your region to provide training and assisting managers and baristas in implementing training programs.
- Maintaining a training calendar and communicating with the Operations Manager around scheduling classes and check-ins.
- Keeping a thorough record of coffee and new hire training taking place at each location in your region and communicating individual and team progress/status with store and regional leaders
- Supporting stores with shift coverage during peak business (holidays, events, etc..) and as needed in conjunction with training duties.
- Providing first-tier troubleshooting support for coffee-related and POS equipment.
- All other duties assigned by management.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum one year of Barista experience (speciality coffee setting preferred).
- 3-5 year of Training and Development experience
- 2-3 year of Leadership experience

- Ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Adept at managing and leading teams.

- Franschhoek, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
