**Fundraiser**
**Stellenbosch / Remotely**
**3 year renewable contract**

Join an established conservation organisation in a fundraising position, known within the team as a Resource Developer

**Requirements**:

- A degree or equivalent qualification in natural sciences, social sciences, communications or similar
- A minimum of five years experience in fundraising, Natural Resource Management, or community project implementation
- Full understanding of fundraising best practices and a track record in successful fundraising
- Knowledge of and experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, including developing Theories of Change and logical frameworks
- Exceptional communication and writing skills (English)
- The ability to write clear, compelling, concept notes and proposals
- The ability to collate information from disparate sources to provide timely and impactful donor reports, which requires an ability to build relationships with staff in remote areas
- A firm grasp of research and analysis
- An understanding of the potential of the various communication channels/platforms and the necessity to engage closely with the foundations Communications team
- An ability to use online customer relationship management system to record and process opportunities, agreements, reports, thank you letters, campaigns etc.
- An ability to work under pressure and honour deadlines
- An ability to travel as required
**Advantageous**:

- A deep understanding of, and network among donor organizations
- A deep understanding of biodiversity, climate change and/or sustainable development issues
- Experience in project management
- Advanced computer skills, including Excel
- Ability to create infographics/dashboards using tools such as Power BI
**Business Goals**

Strategic Impact - Identify opportunities aligned with strategic needs of the organisation
- Look for opportunities based on research and in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
- Develop a concept that speaks to the opportunity (including input on log frames)
- Review the concept with key internal and external stakeholders

Operational and process effectiveness - Mobilise resources to produce sustainable impact
- Develop a full proposal/campaign in line with donor criteria and organisational requirements
- Coordinate finalisation and signing of grant or other agreements
- Coordinate project inception meetings
- Monitor and ensure quality reporting in line with contractual obligations

Stakeholder management - Manage donor relationship and key stakeholders
- Grow relationship with existing donors and expand the foundations support from key strategic donors
- Partner with other organisations and align expertise to strengthen foundations projects
- Conduct joint fundraising with other organisations and NGOs
- Develop strong internal relationship with key project teams

People Growth - Lead and pro-actively coach key stakeholders on the foundations approach to mobilise resources to achieve sustainable impact
- Provide direction and expertise to project managers in field and relevant teams at head office to
- equip them to understand grant commitments and donor expectations
- Drive communication and feedback at all levels to align with the strategic focus of the organisation

- Develop and grow functional and leadership skills to stay future fit and relevant for the changing needs of the organisation
