- Reporting to Parts Manager- Purpose of Job: Sell parts to repair the defect and meet the customer's needs. Ensure first quotation is correct. You may be required to work outside of normal working hours to assist the stand-by technician with parts. Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur. Controls showroom inventory to ensure maximum sales and customer satisfaction. Assist Parts Manager with mechandising displays.- Key Standards:
- Sell parts to repair the defect and meet the customer's needs. Ensure first quotation is correct- Controls showroom inventory to ensure maximum sales and customer satisfaction- Auditing of all stock on a weekly/monthly/annual basis- Ensure that all breakdown job cards (both electronic and manual) are properly loaded and parts recorded- To deal promptly with all documentation- Maintain effective communication- Tasks:
- Listening to customer's explanation and have a clear understanding of part of component location- Handling of telephonic queries for the Sales Dept when required- Show interest in personal development and the willingness to learn more about the product- Assist in keeping parts dept clean and orderly- Ensure that all parts used are recorded on the job card- When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit processing procedures of the dealership. Processes orders, warranties and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale- Follow up on shortages and expedite by report to Parts Manager- Ensure that the correct items have been picked, first time- Understanding of office dynamics- To deal with suppliers of consumables when on site and when placing orders- Ensuring that all consumables are handled and recorded accurately- To contribute to departmental and dealership marketing plans as required- To secure stores from fire, damage or theft by implementing company policies- To ensure discount policy is observed- Ensure full valuation received for items returned for credit- Monitor suppliers prices and report significant changes to Parts Manager- Key Performance Indicator:
- Ensure customer service and retention by providing first class service- To deal promptly with all documentation- Ability to provide accurate and readily available stock figures and reports- To maintain effective communication with Parts Manager, customers and the warehouse staff as well as other departments- To maintain contact with trade suppliers, distributors and manufacturers' representatives-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Matric- Previous Parts Counter Sales experience, commercial vehicles- Computer literate- Understanding of stock control, ordering etc- Excellent communication skills- Accuracy and attention to detail- Knowledge of products/parts and services**What Qualification**
