**Responsibilities**:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as housekeeping, repairing, and inspecting of the utilities equipment (Effluent plant, Boiler plant, Compressor room, Cooling towers, Chiller room, Gas plant and Pumphouse).
- Adhere to safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Assist in the installation of utility systems and equipment.
- Daily condition-based monitoring of the equipment and systems ensuring that they are functioning properly.
- Identify and report any issues or malfunctions to the Utilities Foreman.
- Coal mixing, ensuring the coal does not stay for too long in the Coal Bunker.
- Ensure that all water treatment stations are functioning properly, record and file chemical stock levels.
- Assist maintenance building team.
- Operate and maintain utility systems such as Compressors, Cooling towers and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
- Grade12/Matric
- Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects
- Must have experience with operating plant equipment
- Must be a team player
- Must have ability to work at heights and confined spaces.
- Fault finding ability and quick response to safety hazards.
- Must be able to work overtime when requested.
- Must have a natural aptitude for working with tools.
- Must have knowledge on basic building and equipment maintenance and daily checklists
