Commodities Business Development Associate

**Purpose**:is to secure long term investment opportunities, and to assist the BD Team globally and locally in Africa to contribute to the business growth by:

- sourcing, executing and managing long term investments such as mine offtake financing, selected investments in logistics and smelting
- support the Head of Integration of Africa and Project Team to build the Africa business plan and other relevant tasks

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify financing deal opportunities with the support of the commercial teams and contacts within the banking and mining communities (CEO/CFO level, mining funds, financial advisors)
- Analyse and screen the pipeline of deal opportunities, manage the relevant competitive bidding process (letter of interest, non-binding offers) in order to secure the deal
- For selected opportunities, manage all aspects of an investment project: coordination with internal stakeholders to build the business case, risk and financial analysis, internal approvals, deal structuring and negotiation, contractual documentation with the support of the legal, recommend and implement the best financing options
- Management the allocated portfolio of existing investments
- Building of the African business plan related to the production of specified metals and support the structuring of long term agreements

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or other business discipline
- 8-10 years of related experience in the metals industry
- Financial analysis capability (financial modeling, ability to review financials of specific projects)
- Exposure on transaction structuring and execution (project finance, debt structures, prepayments, M&A

**Salary**: From R700,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Metals Trading: 5 years (required)
