JOB SCOPE

Are you passionate about building meaningful partnerships that drive social impact and expand opportunities for young people? Join our team in South Africa as a Partnerships Manager (Fundraising) and play a key role in deepening our relationships with Foundation and government partners.

In this role, you will work closely with the Development Director, the Programmes Team, the Communications team and the Finance Team to ensure we deliver on our funding commitments and build strong, long-term collaborations with our partners.

**Your key responsibilities**:

- Take the lead in managing a portfolio of key funders, with a primary focus on Foundations and Government partners.
- Ensure high-quality stewardship of partnerships by coordinating timely and accurate reporting, grant renewals, and relationship management activities.
- Collaborate with programme and finance teams to track progress against funding agreements, gather impact data, and prepare compelling narrative and financial reports.
- Support the renewal and growth of existing partnerships by identifying strategic opportunities and contributing to tailored proposals and concept notes.
- Actively maintain our CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring all partnership activity is up to date and supporting internal learning and planning.
- Work with the Communications team to create partner-specific updates, reports, and materials that showcase our impact.
- Support the planning and delivery of site visits, partner events, and engagement activities that strengthen relationships

**CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES**

**Education/**

**Equivalent**:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Development Studies, Business, Public Policy, or Communications) is required. A postgraduate qualification (Honours or Master’s) in a related area is strongly preferred and will be an advantage.

**Experience/**

**Skills** We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and relationship-driven individual to manage

impact, highly organised, and experienced in managing complex partnerships in a

nonprofit or development context.

**Essential requirements**:

- **Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience**, including significant experience in institutional fundraising, donor relations, or partnership management at a senior level.
- **Track record of managing high-value partnerships** with foundations, government agencies, and/or bilateral/multilateral funders, including leading grant reporting, renewals, and stakeholder communications.
- **Excellent relationship management skills,**with experience building and maintaining professional, trust-based partnerships.
- **Strong collaboration skills**, with experience working cross-functionally with senior colleagues across programmes, finance, and communications.
- **Exceptional written and verbal communication skills**, with the ability to produce clear, compelling reports, presentations and proposals.
- **Advanced project management abilities**, including experience overseeing multiple funding relationships, ensuring compliance, and coordinating inputs across teams.
- **Experience using CRM or grant management systems**, ideally Salesforce, for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
- **A deep commitment to our mission**of advancing equity and opportunity for young people.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working within an international or multi-stakeholder organisation.
- Familiarity with results-based reporting, logframes, or monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Knowledge of education sector, youth development, or related fields.
- Fluency in more than one South African language.
