Requirements
- BSc in Chemistry or a four-year tertiary qualification or related field
- MSc or PhD qualification will be advantageous
- Five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience in supervision of laboratory

analytical services
- Two (2) to four (4) years’ research experience in the areas of water

/ wastewater, aquatic related research
- Registered with SACNASP as a Pr.Sci.Nat
- A valid driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas
- Assist in managing the operations of the analytical services

laboratories
- Ensure routine and ad hoc monitoring analyses of any water matrix

and air quality determinants associated with all Service Level

Agreements (SLAs), relevant legislative norms and standards,

licences, regulations and meeting of guidelines
- Ensure that the laboratory activities are in accordance with the

applicable ISO/IEC 17025 internal Quality Management System

requirements to ensure credible and accurate analytical results
- Assist in developing and coordinating specialised research and

development projects to improve operational and functional

areas within the branch
- Implement business growth strategies of the Branch to promote

business improvement
- Ensure continuous staff training relevant to the field and scope of

analytical laboratories and evaluate staff competency.
