Promos and granular video editor is responsible for executing daily deliverables for linear and social media platforms, generating content (ideas, producing and editing videos for all NNG platforms, and assisting in other aspects of video creation).
Key responsibilities
Report directly to the creative coordinator and production manager
Ability to do an offline and online edit of pertinent content on the channel - to deliver on short form content to be repurposed on the channel.
Conceptualise and edit show specific promos and themed granular content
Edit video, produce graphics and work with social media teams to produce social media video content
Find new and innovative ways to tell stories across the NNG platforms
Research, conceptualise, pitch and create original video content for the group
Edit innovative video content and campaign concepts with the aim of increasing engagement across all NNG platforms
Create high-end audio visual reel packages for the different stakeholders
To deliver complete work on tight deadlines and short turnaround times as this is a fast-paced work environment
Meet with clients to establish the desired look and feel for the video to be created
Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects
Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video's creation
Create an initial proposed storyboard draft of the video to present to clients and receive approval before starting on the project or task at hand.
Improve video and sound quality using various video software - Adobe Creative Cloud
Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project
Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalised videos according to client's specifications
Experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
Assembling all raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting into the computer
Inputting uncut rushes and sound, synchronising and storing them into media ready for use.
Digitally cutting media to put together the content sequence and deciding what's usable
Creating a 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the programme/film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
**Requirements**:
Professional experience related to video production and editing
Experience in editing premium video content for television broadcast, social and digital platforms
High attention to detail
Must be adaptable and able to work under tight deadlines
Qualifications in multimedia studies (degree/diploma).
Proven knowledge that lands itself to sound news and social-worthy judgment
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage several projects simultaneously
Must demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills
Ability to use good judgement and to exercise discretion in confidential matters
Must possess outstanding work ethic and be highly self-motivated
A keen eye for detail and a critical mind/attention to detail
Creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing
Patience and concentration
The ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team
A high level of self-motivation, commitment and dedication
Communication skills, both written and oral.
