Functional Job Description - Statutory Reporting Manager

Reports to: Africa Regional Controller

Supervises: None

Authority level: Refer to Authorisation Schedule

1. Basic Function

The Statutory Reporting Manager is responsible for the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements of the African entities, statutory audits, as well as additional accounting and reporting activities.

2. Primary

**Responsibilities**:
a. Prepares annual financial statements on Caseware for various entities (across Africa)

b. Key point of contact for the preparation of statutory accounts.

c. Responsible for planning and setting of external audits and be the key contact for all statutory audit queries.

d. Manage and Review of Key Balance Sheet accounts (AP, AR & Fixed Asset control accounts).

e. Continuously looks for improvements in the management of the general ledger. Initiates and drives improvement projects.

f. Participate in special accounting projects as required.

g. Other financial control and management functions required to maintain fiscal control and compliance in the Africa region.

h. Advises management of correct procedures according to legislation when required.

3.Principal Working Relationship

a) Reports to Africa Regional Controller

b) Works closely with Africa Tax team

4.Education / Experience Requirements

a)Qualified Accountant (SAICA/SAIPA)

b)5+ years of relevant working experience

c)Experience in Caseware

d)Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (if applicable)

e)Computer literate

f)Excellent English language skills

g)Excellent communication skills

h)Competencies: accurate, independent, organized, pro-active, service minded, team player
