The Presentation Scheduler is responsible for the effective planning and implementation of schedules for The History Channel Africa. The role is responsible for the daily delivery of presentations schedules, ensuring the accurate and timeous implementation of schedule plans.

Produce and deliver accurate daily transmission schedules which are compliant with relevant regulations, including Ofcom, ICASA and BCCSA regulations for The History Channel (Africa). This involves the creative and accurate scheduling of all broadcast presentation elements; promotions, sponsorship, graphics, continuity announcements and all channel branding while being immersed in the channel brands and implementing promo campaigns with key targets and demographics in mind.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure all presentation schedules are created accurately and delivered daily, within the deadline and in accordance with all relevant regulations and in line with the channel strategies.
- Liaise frequently and maintain a close and positive working relationship with the regional On Air team in London to identify and resolve any issues relating to schedule implementation.
- Work closely with UK media planning team on implementation of [airtime strategy] promotional allocation, working collaboratively to deliver on plans keeping an open dialogue on ability to implement and deliver on priorities.
- Escalate problems in the required timescales and via the most effective route, retaining ownership of the issues, promptly carrying out follow up analysis when needed.
- Ensure that schedule queries from internal and external stakeholders are effectively resolved.
- Ensure that available on-air tools and presentation scheduling strategies are utilised effectively to deliver the best on-air experience possible.
- Work closely with the Tech Ops, Content Management, Commissioning teams and the transmission playout house to ensure the smooth and accurate delivery of final schedules before they go to air.
- Ensure that the schedule supports the advertising and marketing requirements of the channel by making available the appropriate levels of advertising and promotional inventory.
- Ensure that any legal or other issues identified through the implementation of the schedule (such as rights violations or compliance risks) are appropriately managed or escalated to minimise the risk to the business.
- Work closely with the regional WhatsOn support team to ensure that the WhatsOn system functionality supports effective implementation of the schedule plans for the channels.
- Produce relevant break files as well as skeleton schedules and maintain relationships with the DMS team, to ensure effective tracking and management of break structures with support from UK On-Air.

**Additional duties**:

- Maintain a good working knowledge of the South African and broader African television markets, as well as international content trends.
- Support the local and London based teams in their duties, as required.
- Support the implementation of special projects as needed.
