The Financial Controller at La Residence is responsible for working alongside and in support of the Management team and Heads of Department to ensure that all financial processes and records meet compliance requirements and remain in budget. It's no simple task to balance the expenses of a 5* Premium property with the purpose of The Royal Portfolio, which is _"to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay". _The Financial Controller is the custodian of our value "to be financially sustainable" and as such, needs to be a diligent, passionate, confident and accredited professional in their field. **MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** - Successful and effective implementation of long - Manage the full Accounting Function, ensuring the records are per general accounting practice & legal requirements. - SARS and statutory compliance, including monthly VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, HGPF, FAWU & Medical Aid submission, reconciliation, and payment. - Annual external audit preparation & liaising with Auditor - Monthly and Quarterly management account preparation, including Sustainability, as a general review on the overall results, but also drilled down to individual department detail. - Liaising with senior management and heads of department, reviewing, coaching & adjusting the course of action to align with short and long-term goals. - Budget planning, preparation & presentation for each department & the Hotel as a whole, as well as identifying and deciding on human resource and capital expenditure requirements. - Submit monthly payroll information, together with the HR department. - Assist in annual insurance renewal preparation. - Ad-hoc reporting & analysis **REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS** - Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification in Accounting/ Finance. - Minimum 5 years industry experience (some experience in a management role preferred). - Completed professional body exams and registration (CIMA, SAIPA etc) would be advantageous. - Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, Sage or Pastel - Previous exposure to a point-of-sale system (Micros) and inventory management system (MyInventory) an advantage. - Strong communication skills in English - Ability to think on your feet and come up with solutions - Be able to deal with and handle conflict - Team player/ can do attitude - Ability to motivate and influence opinion South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document. **All new appointments at The Royal Portfolio’s properties will need to show proof of vaccination against Covid 19.
