We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to join the team based in Johannesburg
The primary functions of your role, in line with the Responsibilities are outlined below:
As a HR Generalist you will provide a key interface between HR and the designated Southern Africa group to embed a strategic approach to Human Resources. Working in partnership with managers and employees to provide professional, customer focused HR advice and solutions that support and build organisational and people capabilities. The role will have a strong talent development focus, helping to design and build on work already done to ensure AHK Southern Africa has a talent and leadership development approach that is clearly focused on bringing the right talent through at the right time. You will design, build and roll out an internal talent acquisition service for Southern Africa. focused on Southern Africa serving approximately 500 employees. Provide an end to end talent management service. You will cover the normal HR Generalist duties as well, focusing on Skills Development, Employment Equity and BBBEE.
Job Objectives
- Build credible relationships with business leaders to help understand ‘people’ challenges and help shape and challenge their thinking.
- Work closely with the internal HR, talent acquisition and L&D teams to influence any hiring decisions and ensure the best talent is attracted, onboarded and developed.
- Support with the development of an engaging recruitment and onboarding process ensuring the business becomes the employer of choice.
- Support the development of the AHK global graduate and leadership talent pool and assist in creating a graduate talent development plan for the business. Partner closely with business leaders and talent acquisition.
- Take a proactive and key role in projects, including effective planning and monitoring of projects, managing risk, issues and benefits and contingency planning.
- Proactively leading on various engagement initiatives to maximise employee performance which are aligned to making AHK a great place to work.
- Being instrumental in driving change and helping leaders manage change within a complex business environment.
- Work with managers to support ER cases including performance management, absence, disciplinaries and grievances. Providing guidance on HR policy and interpretation.
- Managing the exit interview process, analyse data and trends and make recommendations and changes.
- Supporting and coaching managers with the talent and succession planning process.
- Looking at current ways of working and existing processes to streamline and automate as much as possible including the roll out of digital systems.
- To be responsible for delivering excellence in all aspects of service delivery by identifying areas for improvement in services and implementing good practice.
- Assist in the development and implementation of coherent people plans within the client group that enable, facilitate and achieve organisational and cultural change.
- Take the lead on more complex case management and use analytics and insight to deliver service and business improvements.
- Stay abreast in new developments in both Employment Law and external changes affecting the client group.
- Working with the Learning and Development team to influence and coach managers to identify high performance and to initiate development opportunities, embedding talent development and succession planning, linked to the needs of the organisation.
- Develop and contribute to strategies, new initiatives, policies and procedures to meet the aims of the business.
- Support the Skills Development process, including organising learning events (classroom and virtual).
- All day to day HR administrative duties.
- Employment Equity plans & submission of yearly reports within the required timeframes.
- Assist the HR Manager with BBEE yearly audit.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection of applicants.
- 360 recruitment process from advertising, sourcing, interviewing and on-boarding.
- Using creative and innovative techniques at attracting the best talent.
- Help develop graduate and apprentice talent acquisition strategy.
- Develop a recruitment process that can be rolled-out across the business.
- Competitor analysis and talent mapping, including partnership mapping.
- Have the experience and knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EEA, Skills Development Act and BBEE.
Minimum Requirements
- 5 - 10 years’ experience in a Human Resource Management environment as a HR Officer, HR Practitioner, HR Manger or HR Business Partner.
- 2 - 5 years’ experience in a Talent Acquisition manager role/recruiter.
