**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate the integration and implementation of strategic initiatives with various business partners and stakeholders in the context of the Growth for Jobs (G4J) economic development strategy.

**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Economics or similar; A minimum of 3 years management level experience.

**Recommendation**:
Experience in the following: Economic development project delivery; Stakeholder management and Public entities; A valid code B drivers’ license.

**Key Performance Areas**:
Coordinate the integration of strategic initiatives in support of the G4J economic development strategy; Manage and facilitate stakeholder relations in the G4J context; Manage the human resources of the Subdirectorate to achieve the predetermined performance indicators and service delivery imperatives, motivated, competent, appreciated and performance orientated staff and sound labour relations; Plan the Subdirectorate’s budget and manage income and expenditure through responsible implementation of policies, practices and decisions in order to achieve unit objectives effectively and efficiently.

**Competencies**:
Knowledge of the following: Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modellin, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources; Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards and evaluation of customer satisfaction; Project management; Legislative and regulatory requirements, policies and standards related to economic development; Public management and administration; Political sciences and public policy; Relationship management; Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Decision making; Problem analysis; Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R849 702 per annum (SalaryLevel 11).

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque,medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
