**Job Purpose**

The Record to Report Lead is responsible for providing oversight and direction to the team to ensure monthly reporting and accounting is complete, accurate, valid and on time for all companies within Shared Services

**Responsibilities**

**Record to Report Operations**
- Provide oversight and direction to the team to ensure monthly reporting and accounting are complete, accurate, valid and on time for all companies within Shared Services

**Intercompany, Related Party and Tax schedules**
- Process intercompany transactions for organizations with multiple legal / management entities requiring an invoice and settlement
- Reconcile intercompany balances ensuring all mismatches and differences are resolved as part of month-end close
- Review financial data assessing that taxable/non-taxable split for accuracy and completeness
- Review related party information to evaluate completeness, accuracy and consistency

**Fixed Assets**
- Maintain the Fixed Asset register, ensuring all asset additions and disposals are processed and depreciation is calculated as part of month end for accurate reporting
- Support verification activities and revaluations if required
- Continuous purification of asset register in compliance with existing and new IFRS, legislation and policies
- Managing impairment and valuation of fixed assets
- Advising stakeholders on asset related matters and associated risks and recommending/implementing corrective action to mitigate related risks

**General and Cost Accounting**
- Capture key business information for managerial accounting purposes and produce reports to support management decision making
- Record transactions in the general ledger system reflecting the operations of the business, undertaking expense account analysis as required
- Oversight of all sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations as well as all other balance sheet reconciliations across the serviced entities

**Month end**
- Report consolidated financial information as dictated by local accounting standards
- Support Process Owner to periodically review standardised record-to-report processes and procedures to identify improvements and address deviations
- Each month end treated as the financial year end, confirming closing dates are met and all relevant accounts are cleared, and month-end entries are correctly allocated, complete and accurate

**Internal Controls**
- Manage internal controls relating to General Ledger processes
- Implement sound financial discipline and control to prevent financial losses
- Perform control reviews, risk assessments, identifying weaknesses and implementing/ recommending corrective action to mitigate risks
- Investigate audit findings identified, implementing corrective controls and monitoring compliance with agreed recommendations
- Maintain effective segregation of duties and access control within functional area
- Implementing and advising on delegation of authority and monitoring noncompliance

**Preparation and compilation of Financial Accounting Reporting packs and schedules**
- Ensure the preparation of financial statements is in accordance with IFRS and applicable legislation
- Reviewing reconciliation downloads as appropriate, resolving problems due to changed / new accounts added, and ensuring it reconciles back to GL
- Evaluating all source data received from respective stakeholders for accuracy, completeness and reasonability
- Interacting with Group Finance to ensure all financial reporting submissions are timeous, accurate and complete
- Advising on compliance to all financial policies, procedures and guidelines in accordance with control objectives
- Manage internal and external audit matters and facilitate the interim and year-end external audits

**Organisational Risk Management**
- Develop and/or deliver a contingency plan for significant aspects of the risk management and/or control process
- Drive efficiency and high customer service as well as ensure risk is managed across the different teams

**Leadership and direction**
- Lead and direct a high-performance team
- Ensure priorities, goals and clear key performance indicators are set for the team
- Ensure the Record to Report (R2R) team delivers on strategic business objectives
- Track team performance and present performance to the Shared Services Executive

**Digital Strategy/Transformational Projects Execution**
- Build and populate dashboards and reporting mechanisms to capture results and improvement opportunities for digital initiatives
