Requirements
- A Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification (certified proof must

be submitted)
- Must be registered as a traffic officer and be in possession of a

National Department of Transport Basic Traffic Officer qualification

(RTMC).
- A valid Code B manual driver’s licence (certified proof must be

submitted)
- No previous criminal convictions
- Permanent Resident of the Republic of South Africa
- Physical and mental fitness for appointment as a member of the

Municipal Police Service, as contemplated in the Regulations

applicable to Municipal Police members
- Sound communication skills
- Strong customer focus and a desire to serve the community
- Good judgement, tenacity an integrity
- All requirements applicable to be appointed as a Municipal Police

member ito Regulations 11 of the Regulations for Municipal Police

Services.

Key Performance Areas
- Enforce municipal by-law regulations
- Enforce traffic legislation
- Perform crime prevention functions by enforcing relevant legislation
- Deliver on the specialised functions assigned to the specialist units

of the Metro Police to ensure an effective response to internal and

external service demands
