Job Purpose
The General Warehouse Worker is responsible for assisting with the efficient handling, movement,
and storage of goods within the Distribution Centre (DC). This role plays an important part in
maintaining accurate inventory, supporting daily operations, and ensuring smooth supply chain
flow from inbound to outbound.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count stock items during inbounding.
- Kimble and tag products to company standards, ensuring correct labelling and pricing.
- Capture item details into the warehouse management system (WMS) or designated software
with precision.
- Check and verify product information (size, style, barcode, quantity) against documentation.
- Flag and report discrepancies, damaged stock, or missing information promptly.
- Maintain accurate records to support stock integrity and auditing.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality in all tasks.
- Support with stock counts, cycle counts, and re-checking activities as required.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised work area.
**Requirements**:
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential).
- Further studies or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (advantageous).
- Previous warehouse or DC experience (preferred but not essential).
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, WMS knowledge advantageous).
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
