An exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, global environment has arisen with our client. Based at the KZN office, the International Trade and Logistics Manager will oversee the buying and selling of commodities in the agricultural/ food space. You will develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and buyers across the globe and ensure that all trading activities comply with relevant regulations as well as oversee logístical aspects and align financial instruments.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement trading strategies that take into account market trends, supply and demand, and other factors that affect the price of commodities.
- Correlate financial instruments to ensure the success of trades.
- Identify and develop new markets for commodities and manage existing markets to ensure profitability.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and buyers, including price, quantity, and delivery terms.
- Align logistics for the transportation of commodities from suppliers to buyers, including shipping and customs clearance.
- Analyze and report on market trends and develop forecasts for future commodity prices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including trade laws and environmental regulations.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and buyers in the major markets

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commodity trading or related field.
- Experience working with various international banks
- A strong understanding and awareness of timing with regard to time zones and trading days in other countries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and buyers across different cultures and geographies.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
