Reporting to the Portfolio Manager: Facilities, the Facilities Manager will plan and manage the operation and

maintenance of Ithala’s facilities and plants to prolong their life cycle and achieve a high level of customer

satisfaction.

**The Facilities Manager will**:

- Conduct building and garden maintenance.
- Manage and maintain transport services.
- Manage cleaning services.
- Manage physical assets.
- Keep assets register accurately.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance costs.
- Manage budget.
- Manage service level agreements.
- Manage human resources.

The following minimum requirements should be met in order to be considered:
Qualifications:

- National Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Building/Mechanical/Civil/Quantity Surveying.
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Business Management/Administration is advantageous.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 3 years experience in facilities management/contract supervision/project management of

which 2 years should have been in managing a team.

Requisite Functional Competencies:

- Knowledge of Facilities Management Software and Ms. Projects and micro / win Q.S. packages.
- Ability to identify all maintenance issues.
- Good technical skills.
- Technical proficiency in the integration of architectural and engineering drawings and documentation.
- Budget process and costing techniques.
- Computer literacy, i.e Ms. Word and Spreadsheet, Crystal Report Writer, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Ithala’s Code of Business Conduct.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to Property Management.
- Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends on an occasional basis.
- Valid code B Driver’s license
