**Position Title**: Landscape Architect (Remote, Hourly Basis)
**Project Name**: Elysian Heights Residential Estate, Limbe, Cameroon
**Employment Type**: Contractual (Hourly Rate)

**Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning and Analysis**
- **Site Assessment**:

- Conduct detailed analysis of the site using provided data, including topography, soil conditions, and climate.
- Identify areas for communal green spaces, pathways, private gardens, and utility placement.
- Evaluate landscaping opportunities for the 1.3km access road, considering roadside drainage and erosion control.
- **Collaboration and Coordination**:

- Work with civil engineers to ensure irrigation systems are integrated with road layouts and stormwater management.
- Coordinate with architects to harmonize landscaping with the estate’s architectural design.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to align lighting fixtures and utility poles with the landscape design.

**Design Development**
- **Master Landscape Plan**:

- Develop scaled layouts of green spaces, tree placement, pathways, and hardscaping features (e.g., seating areas, plazas).
- Highlight communal areas such as parks, playgrounds, and recreational spaces.
- Design roadside landscaping for the 1.3km access road with attention to aesthetics and functionality.
- **Irrigation Design**:

- Design efficient irrigation systems, including water access points and drainage systems.
- Ensure the use of sleeves under roads and sidewalks for efficient water distribution.
- **Sustainability Features**:

- Propose native and drought-resistant plant species to reduce water consumption.
- Incorporate sustainable features such as rain gardens, bioswales, and permeable surfaces.
- **Lighting and Pathways**:

- Plan for pedestrian walkways, cycling paths, and appropriate lighting for safety and ambiance.

**Deliverables**
- Scaled master landscape plans in AutoCAD or similar format.
- Irrigation system layouts, including integration with civil plans.
- Planting schedules detailing species, quantities, and placement.
- Cost estimates for materials, plants, and maintenance.
- 3D renderings or walkthroughs (optional but preferred).
- Implementation guidelines for contractors.

**Optional Site Supervision**
- Provide remote support during the installation phase to ensure adherence to design specifications.

**RequirementsQualifications and Skills**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential and roadside landscaping projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or equivalent software.
- Strong understanding of sustainable landscaping practices.
- Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration with engineering and architectural teams.
- Ability to provide cost-effective and creative solutions tailored to project requirements.
- Based in South Africa or Kenya.
- Familiarity with landscaping in tropical climates.

**Compensation**
- **Hourly Rate**: Negotiable based on experience and expertise.
- Payment will be made bi-weekly upon submission of approved timesheets.
