Electrician

**JOB DESCRIPTION : ELECTRICIAN**

**Reporting to**: Quarry Manager

**Qualifications**

Grade 12

Familiar with the Mine Health and Safety Act

High Voltage 380

Wireman’s License

Public Driving Permit

Experience (3-5 years minimum in Mining)

**SKILLS REQUIRED**

1) **Communication**

Should be able to communicate with managers, peers and all levels of the workforce.

Should be able to carry out strategic and short term planning of maintenance projects and control progress of such projects.

3) **Controlling**

Should be able to control maintenance projects and formulate solutions to strategic problems.

Should be able to take ownership of his/her designated area of influence.

4) **Handling Stress**

Should be able to work under high pressure as on the spot decisions are required. Tight production deadlines must be adhered too. Should be able to work in elevated positions.

5) **Problem Solving**

Should be able to analyses problems and suggest solutions to management or peers.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAS)**

1) Carry out routine planned maintenance and breakdown duties.

2) Carry out routine maintenance with electrical equipment.

3) Control maintenance equipment to ensure it is kept stored and cleaned in a secure storage area.

4) Ensures that the plant lock out procedure is followed when carrying out maintenance and cleaning in hazardous areas on the Equipment.

5) Visually check equipment and report defects to the Manager.

6) Ensure all waste products are disposed of by recycling companies and receipts of safe disposal are obtained.

**DUTIES RELATED TO KPAS**

1) Carry out routine and emergency maintenance duties in and around the equipment, By:

- Supervise the cleaning of workshop and surrounding areas.
- Maintaining maintenance equipment in a tidy and safe condition.
- Reporting any failure hereof the manager

2) Ensure that the plant and vehicle lock out procedure is followed at all times.

3) Ensure that he/she is familiar with the SHE constraints in place on the operation.

4) Ensure he/she is familiar with the daily production programme to schedule planned maintenance.

**ADHOC ISSUES**

**Plant Workload**
- Carry out random checks and inspections to ensure equipment conforms to

SHEQ requirements Mobile Crushing and Screening Plant and associated mobile equipment.
- Carry out random checks and inspections to ensure equipment is adequate to address production requirements.

**Production and Quality**
- Ensure that he/she is familiar with the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management

System by attending such training courses as are deemed necessary.
- Ensure all Tipper Trucks comply with current Road Traffic Regulations.
- Ensure all earthmoving equipment complies with current legislation.

**Safety Health and Environmental Control**
- Maintain a constant awareness of SHEQ requirements.
- Ensure all subordinates are trained as to the requirements of the companies

SHEQ Programme requirements.
- Attend the regular SHE forums and Green Area briefings.

**General**
- Any other duties as required due to plant breakdown or due to a lack of demand for the final product.

**Salary**: R12,000.00 - R18,000.00 per month

- Tzaneen, Limpopo: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
