**Main Purpose of The Role**:
To effectively manage the operations in the branch to ensure efficiency and contract adherence in terms of client relations, operational performance, commercial and people management and development.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Supervisory or Management role.
- Code 8 driver’s license.
- Own reliable transport reflecting professional image.
- Ability to work shifts.
- Prepared to undergo random polygraph tests and criminal checks.
- Flexibility in terms of job functions as a result of changing workflow and patterns
- Must have some previous operational management experience.

**Electives**:

- Experience in Transport Management.
- Qualification or studying towards a diploma or degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply. Chain Management or any related field.
- Process engineering.
- Telephone etiquette.
- Experience in IR.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric (essential)

**Computer packages**:

- ESS, SAP, Fleet Connect, Report Manager

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Manage staff attendance and morale.
- Manage staff and freight processes with attention to details.
- Debriefing of drivers.
- Escalation of incidents and issues.
- Ensure integrity of freight is observed.
- Make sure that all deadlines are met.
- Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety rules are adhered to.
- Ensure that housekeeping is practiced at all times.
- Run and action daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Manage and control vehicle fleet and Owner Drivers.
- Ensure that all SLA’s are achieved.
- Actively involvement with CIP and CAPA.
- Protect and control company assets.
- Effective communication on all levels.
- Problem solving and system analysis.
- Administrative duties.
- Client liaison (telephonically and in person).
- Operational and routing decisions, vehicle and cost control.
- Drive cost savings initiative.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills.
- Be prepared to undergo credit and criminal checks as well as integrity tests
- Health and safety knowledge in a warehouse environment.
