Half-day Village Nurse

Join the La Vie team as a Village Nurse in our Lynnmed retirement community where people thrive on quality care and genuine connections. We’re looking for someone who’s not just skilled in nursing, but truly enjoys making a difference in the lives of our senior residents.

Your role will be hands-on in providing nursing care and ensuring our residents are living the highest possible quality of life. This job is about more than just medical attention; it’s about creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our residents to feel at home.

You will also work in wound care under an experienced wound care nurse.

Your core hours will be 07:00-12:00 every weekday.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide exceptional nursing care residents' health, and manage individual care plans.
- Serve as a compassionate advocate for residents' well-being, liaising with families and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Engage in and potentially lead community wellness activities and health education, with a focus on wound care and prevention.
- Work collaboratively with our dedicated team to maintain a safe, nurturing environment for all residents.

**Requirements**:

- Must be an RN or EN.
- Experience in geriatrics or community nursing will be highly regarded.
- A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, coupled with a genuine passion for elderly care.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans is necessary to communicate effectively with our residents.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative team spirit are essential.
- Adaptability to meet the changing needs of our residents.
- Competency in computer skills for maintaining accurate health records.
