**INTRODUCTION COEGA BIOMASS CENTRE**

Coega biomass Centre (CBC) is an industrial-scale pellet factory based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). CBC produces wood pellets and wood chips to be used as a sustainable and renewable fuel both in South Africa and in Europe. In March 2024, pellet production started.

The pellets and chips are made from Alien Invasive Trees, pine, eucalyptus, and acacia. These trees are harvested and collected on 15-25 different sites. All feedstock material is 100% FSC certified. Most of the sites are part of CBC’s own FSC group scheme. Some sites are FSC-certified plantations and or sawmills. After harvesting on the FSC group scheme sites, CBC has the obligation to manage and control the regrowth (land rehabilitation) of the alien invasive trees for 5 years.

**ROLE DELIVERABLES**

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and manage budgets, forecast financial performance based on historical data and market trends.
- Create and maintain financial models to assess various scenarios and their potential impacts.
- Analyse financial statements, KPIs, and variances to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Financial Director, highlighting key findings and insights.
- Assist in developing long-term financial plans and strategies.
- Gather, clean, and analyse financial data from various sources to support decision-making.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess the potential impact of various factors on financial performance.
- Monitor and analyse cash flow, identifying potential shortages and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their financial needs and provide relevant insights.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial planning and analysis.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong ability to analyse data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining financial models using Excel.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to identify and report to the Financial Director to resolve financial issues and recommend solutions.
- Ability to understand the bigger picture and how financial decisions impact the overall business strategy.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- BCom Accounting, or a related major, completed CIMA or studying towards completion.
- Must have at least 5 years of financial planning experience.
- Must have strong Excel skills.

Pay: R45 000,00 - R55 000,00 per month
