Are you a seasoned retail Operations Management professional looking to advance your career with a reputable real estate business?
Our client is an established real estate investment company and fund with operations throughout Gauteng. With a current portfolio consisting of commercial and retail assets, this versatile business also manages their properties internally. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hardworking Operations Manager to join their Johannesburg based team. Reporting directly to the Head of Property Management and Portfolio Manager you will take responsibility for the effective operations management of a 120,000m2 retail portfolio consisting of 8 shopping centres. With the support of on-site Centre Managers, this position will have you fully involved in managing repairs and maintenance, preparing preventative maintenance plans, Capex preparation and implementation, project management, expansions, HVAC management, contract negotiations and supervising the work of outsourced service providers.
To qualify for this position, you will need to have a relevant tertiary diploma/degree in real estate, construction, or related fields and at least 5 years’ experience in operations and/or facilities management where you have previously looked after a large retail portfolio. You will also need to have a valid drivers license and your own reliable transport to be considered for this opportunity. A high level of attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential to succeed in this position.
