Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resource Business Partner position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in other departments.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Manages everything from hiring and benefits to compliance and employee relations
- Develops and implements the Human Resource strategy provides direction and communicates strategy and goals
- Ensures that the Human Resource strategy is fully supported and aligned to the business strategy
- Operates and integrates seamlessly across functions and looks for opportunities to help others and contributes to the overall company successes
- Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units if required
- Consults with line management, providing IR and HR guidance timeously and when appropriate
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Oversee the implementation of the recognition and reward policy
- Ensure basis of remuneration/ bonus/ increases are communicated timeously and clearly
- Ensure remuneration complies with market and competitor standards
- Ensure that team building sessions take place for all staff members at least 3 times per year
- Achieve staffing process measures
- Facilitates the recruitment, selection and inductions
- Human capital development ensuring regulatory compliance including submission of EE reports and compliance with all the department of labour requirements
- Implementation of succession planning
- Comprehensive training plans
- Ensure performance objectives are agreed with all employees
- Ensure performance evaluations and feedback reviews are performed by line managers. This includes ensuring that feedback sessions are based on objective factual data
- Effective preparation of Work Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR) for the company.
- Policy development, compliance, reviews and implementation including clear communication of policies to staff members
- Ensure all HR documents and templates are saved correctly on the server in an organised manner
- Ensure accuracy of documentation for audits
- Attend all scheduled training courses
- Accurate and timeous completion of individual development plan (IDP) annually
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
