Requirements
- BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or BTech degree in

Electrical Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer/Engineering Technologist

or eligible for registration
- A minimum of five years’ relevant post-qualification experience

in project management
- Code B driver’s licence
- Knowledge of electricity distribution, various generation

technologies including renewable energy, energy storage,

electricity legislation, electricity tariffs, electricity metering,

the OSH Act, contract management, City supply chain

processes (SCM), electricity legislation, and the

Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).

Key Performance Areas
- Conduct research and investigations to obtain information for

technological developments regarding small scale embedded

generation
- Manage approved projects for City-owned owned small scale

embedded generation
- Coordinate project implementation with different teams, sections

and branches
- Control expenditure against budget for project
- Reconcile actual expenditure against estimated expenditure
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with management, internal

and external clients (including councillors and members of

the public) and fellow professionals to give or receive i

nformation on projects, programmes, policies and systems
- Manage the formulation of specific contracts and tender

documents.
