JOB TITLE: SUIT Lead (Sourcing Unit Implementation Team)

FUNCTION: Supply Chain

LOCATION: Anderbolt, South Africa

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The SUIT Engineer will lead as a point of contact for raw and packaging material, product, process, process controls and equipment implementation and modifications. Including new asset landing below Euro 1m and large Kaizen’s managing and deploying projects of E1m and below, including support feasibility Trials and Capability Trials.

This role is responsible for managing individual projects across technologies and innovation and coordination of process development and technical project leads. The role is accountable for the coordination of new innovations, product transfers, roll-outs, recipe changes, line extensions, process control and VIP related activities within an agreed time frame. Responsible for identification and delivery of 5S projects. Lead the FI Pillar and process engineering teams on Site.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Change Management

Leading the MOC process management

Leading projects and coordinating project teams in execution of EEM and EPM.

Central point of contact for external teams to implement change and leads the forums to connect the teams for change management (FCMM)

Communication with Marketing, CD, R&D and SC stakeholders in ensuring that the sourcing unit is aligned to project timelines and requirements for implementation OTIF.

Leads trials for innovations and renovations, and co-ordinate activities with factory team to ensure KPI’s are met

2. CAPEX Controls

Completion of CEP for CAPEX projects under threshold

Ensuring budgeting and cost spend is in line with the CAPEX allocation for the project.

Spend management is according to agreed project delivery.

3. Innovation Projects

Drive Innovation Excellence / OTIF by supporting EPM (which includes QA, product safety, and planning and data co-ordination) and supporting EEM/DFM.

Input for Business case and Innovation plans to PG team for input to contract and market ready documents.

Ensure effective link with R&D, PG, Planning, Cluster Engineering design/deploy and factories for innovation, Capacity and VIP delivery.

In case of projects below Euro 1m, supporting the innovation process from Contract gate to Commissioning in the cluster.

4. Other Projects

Input to technical risk assessments to avoid quality issues.

Supports EPM.

Ensure technology harmonization, simplification and flexible manufacturing in cooperation with Cluster Engineering team.

Commissioning (Post Dry Testing) Troubleshooter with respect to product, process, process controls and packaging performance.

Ensure the highest standards and processes are implemented to comply with Unilever and local safety and quality standard

Lead the FI Pillar and supports Run to Standard cells

Supports the PM Pillar/EPM

Replacing of assets due to age, not linked to innovation or capacity, done by Engineering Team

5. Process Management

Lead the Factories Process Engineering teams

Oversee Process optimisation

Support Production Engineers and Unit Managers with Technical expertise

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Essential- 2-3 years’ experience of Project or Process Engineering in FMCG / related Industry or gained in an engineering consultancy environment- First line management / Supervision experience- Project Management exposure

Desired
- First-hand experience / track record of supporting / exposure to major capital projects within Unilever or similar FMCG environment
