Our client in the Engineering sector, has an opportunity available for a Construction Manager to be based in the Mpumalanga area.
**Requirements**:
- Proven working experience in construction management
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- B. degree in Construction Management, architecture, engineering or related field.
- Working knowledge of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering disciplines
- On call 24/7 to deal with problems and emergencies.
KPAs:
- Planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates
- Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules
- Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Developing and implementing quality control programs
- Represents the Company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
- Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to clients
- Managing & directing the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
- Tracking purchases & inventory control
- Hiring and supervising the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
- Analyse & mitigate risk
