**Job Purpose**:
The Western Cape Government is looking to employ a dynamic,high performing individual to effectively manage the Directorate: Economic Planning Research and Development. This incumbent will be responsible to conduct economic research and manage the development of provincial economic policy and plans.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Honours degree in Economics;
- 6 years middle management experience in an economic developemnt research environment; and
- The successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme (see paragraph 4 in notes below).

**Recommendation**:

- Master's in Economics

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Development economic research methodologies and systems;
- Conduct and manage provincial economic impact assessments;
- Drive and manage economic research;
- Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of economic research policies and plans of relevant stakeholders;
- Develop and influence a policy framework input for draft provincial economic legislation;
- Strategic management;
- People management; and
- Financial Management.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R 1 073 187. 00 per annum (Level13). Note: The remuneration package consists of a basic salary (70%) and the employer’s contribution to the Pension Fund. The remainder of the package may be structured according to your personal needs.
