We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.
Bookkeeper job duties include working closely with our accounting team to create and analyse financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Is familiar with accounting software packages, like Sage Pastel Accounting, Sage Pastel Payroll or Quickbooks.
The Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.
The role also includes HR and general administrative support for the Companies.
Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Prepares payroll reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing employee information
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage
Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Developing Accounting Standards
- Analysing Information and Reporting.
- Strong excel skills
- Dealing with Complexity
- Data Entry Skills with very strong attention to detail and thoroughness
- Accounting. (Formal qualification desirable, but not essential)
- Eagerness and willingness to grow.
- Adaptable to change and comfortable working pressured environments, should they arise.
- Proactive approach to work, which includes improving existing process and procedures, to make benefit the Company.
- Self-starter and quick to learn.
- Target driven, with a willingness drive initiative forward.
- 2-3 years’ experience.
