We have a vacancy for a Buyer /Procurement at our company with experience in manufacturing in the Steel / Sheet metal industries.

**-Need to know the different types of materials**:
Sheet metal: Stainless steel sheets grades (430 / 3CR12 / 304 / 316 / Aluminium, Hot Rolled and Cold Rolled mild steels)

Engineering and structural materials such as Angles, Square, rectangular and round tubing in all grades.

Solid round bars, square bars, hexagon, hollow bars etc

Understanding what laser is cutting, nesting of parts, punching, CNC bending, CNC machining.

Must have a good understanding of all sorts of engineering tools like verniers, micro meter, gauges, squares, measuring tapes.

Consumables used in welding, machining, lathe tools and tips, milling cutters and drill bits and taps.

Metric and Imperial.

Sheet metal bend parts.

Worked in a factory environment with steel.

Must be energetic, healthy and willing to do checks on stocks - stock take, stock control systems MRP.

Very good negotiating skills, good communication skills, documentation control, computer literate
- Own transport a must.

Do costings, BOM’s, understand drawings of parts.

Salary negotiable depend on experience. Start from R25k per month ctc.

**Your key responsibilities**:

- Learn the company procedures / policies / buying strategies.
- Planning and procurement of inventory.
- Development of systems to control stock.
- Forecasting and the improvement of procurement.
- Good buying practices and the management of the supplier relationship.
- Demonstrate a high level of skill in supplier liaison /Supplier relations, forecasting, decision making, problem solving etc.
- Stock Control Knowledge / Stores and stock Control.
- Costings and Quotations. (Recondition Machines/ Customers/ R&D New designs and products.)
- BOM Maintenance. Do costings on all products.
- Knowledge of Different Materials, Stainless Steel etc.
- Previous experience in ordering of Electrical Components. (3 Phase and Single Phase)
- Stores Management and stock Control.
- Own Transport and willing to work overtime / weekends.
- Issue parts to technician over weekend if needed.
- Monthly stocktake on last Saturday of each month.

Knowledge and experience on PASTEL or a similar ERP system is essential.
