Prepare estimates (both professional services and capital cost) and ensure adherence to estimating procedures for project opportunities and execute and supervise estimates to ensure work is delivered.

Prepare and supervise cost estimates (professional and capital) in accordance with the approved procedures to cover the following project phases;
- concept selection and FEED,
- engineering, project management, procurement
- fabrication, transport, installation, construction
- hook-up & commissioning, and abandonment

At the appropriate stages, compare estimates for alternative solutions and provide input to selection of the adopted option.

Liaise with Engineering Leads/Project Engineers to ensure incorporate of modification and additions into the overall estimate for all phases of the work.

Prepare rationale statements to support the estimate identifying areas of weakness and or areas of risk.

In comparison with previous estimates, outcome costs and vendor prices, carry out benchmark estimates through high level norms and industry standards

Continuously monitor the performance of the estimating process as part of the key performance indicators for the contract.

From evaluation of the key performance indicators, identify and make recommendations for improvement of the process.

A recognised degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience. Ideally in Engineering or Construction Management

Preferably minimum of 1 year in building of cost estimates, for either capital or professional services (hour) estimates in consulting and/or EPCm environment where selling of hours is major part of the business.

Preferred/Beneficial: Postgraduate qualifications in the relevant discipline; management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent qualification/experience

Knowledge of project delivery. Good data analytic skills.

Knowledge of commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc). Hands-on mentality.

Technical and practical estimating skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work

Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, including ability to plan, review and present cost engineering and cost estimating products

Knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.

Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software and tools. Cleopatra would be beneficial.

Previous technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline, including experience in estimating.

An understanding in performing and reviewing estimates and experience in executing and supervising estimates.

May be required to travelling internationally to other offices, Client and / or Supplier sites.
