**Import**:

- Manage all import and local ordered shipments end to end
- Ensure that all orders are shipped and received timeously
- Request shipping rates from Global transport team where applicable
- Liaise with supplier to confirm availability and shipping dates
- Notify freight forwarders on shipment collection/readiness/shipping
- Liaise with various departments to ensure required paperwork and/or releases are obtained. Not limited to: Customs, State Vet, Port Health, SGS, Intertek and Chamber of Commerce
- Create and send clearing instruction with full document pack to Customs Clearing agent
- Check if the correct Inco terms have been used
- Confirm final destination warehouse and container transporter
- Provide 1 month outlook to all Warehouses of expected container deliveries
- Work with the clearing agent to ensure timely clearance of cargo
- Provide literature / requested information for any shipments that are Customs stopped for inspection timeously with support from QC, ATS, Sales or Global Product managers as and when required
- Request for updates from shipping lines, agents, and suppliers in a timely manner and update shipping register and SAP
- Update all internal clients with cargo readiness, expected shipping and delivery dates. Highlight all delays
- Manage multiple collection and deliveries and be focused on quick turnaround times
- Receive final document pack from Clearing agent and check all charges are in line with the contracted rates
- Obtain signed documents from transporters for delivered containers
- Ensure goods are received correctly on SAP and upload all documents for the related shipments onto SAP

**Export**:

- Check for documentary requirements for export and destination country
- Ensure all documents and inspections are in order
- Update transport controller on export details - truck/vessel, ETD, cargo collection/packing dates
- Create final set of shipping documents
- Check and verify bills of lading and final shipping docs
- Send out final documents to customer/agent or bank in case of LC’s
- Update shipping costs in SAP

**General**
- Run all reports as required for Supply chain
- Run all backlog reports and send out to respective persons and SC mng
- Provide backup to team - annual leave, sick leave, sudden increase in workloads
- Assist in stock take
- Interaction with DAFF (Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) on import permits.
- City of JHB for Health Certificate
- JCCI for Certificate of Origin

**Costs**
- Maintain costs within budget / AOP
- Continuous drive to find ways of optimization to reduce costs
- Avoid additional cost i.e., Storage, demurrage/ detention etc.

**Food Safety**:

- Carry out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption.
- Ensuring that all T&L stock is transported according to T&L quality standards and procedures.
