Our client is recruiting for a Database MS Administrator to join their team based in Cape Town.

**Responsibilities**:
Proactive and reactive administration and maintenance of the group SQL server Infrastructure

Consolidation and migration of server and database instances across an array of environments within the estate to reduce licensing and administrative overhead and reduce business risk by maintaining supportability

Pickup tickets and user requests and report abnormal situations/concerns about systems

Support development teams in code review, manage change and deploy code across the sever estate

Consultation in specifying, gathering requirements and designing of data solutions

Deploy and configure new server and database instances or consolidate unto an existing standalone or highly available environment

Ensure SQL Server supportability across data solutions and performing remediation assessments

Implement and documenting a framework for DR testing. Performing regular DR scenarios to ensure SLA’s remain viable

**Requirements and Experience**:
At least five years’ equivalent work experience in a data base administration position responsible for managing Database environments

Professional development skills in MS SQL (Packages, Functions, Triggers)

Experience with MS Data Base performance tuning and monitoring tools

Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies

**Salary**: Market Related

**Working Hours**: Monday to Friday (08:00am till 17:00pm)
