Applications are invited for the above-indicated vacancy within Newzroom Afrika. The incumbent will report to the post production supervisor

Job purpose
The primary role of the post production coordinator is to support the Line Manager together with the editing team by ensuring that the workflow in edit runs smoothly all the time and allocating editors for news; current affairs and programming.
Key responsibilities
Support post production supervisor/traffic controller with tracking packages arriving and being edited in edit.
Timeously traffic coordinates all content requests (Bytes, Headlines and VO) from Output Producers/ Bulletin Editors to editors on shift.
Provides Bulletin Producer with any QCED content durations and Slugs
Print subbed scripts and assign editors to stories/ packages and monitor timeframes for these stories.
Distribute any updated schedules to all the departments. (Final Mix, Edit)
Update and communicate edit progress to desk/ Bulletin Producer timeously
Assign editors to Reporters packages and Producers.
Follow up with reporters if visuals and voices are being fed or recorded before assigning an editor to a story.
Monitor QC and make sure what is played out is the correct Slug and duration.
Do a daily handover on packages that came in and packages that didn’t make it in edit.
Follow and adhere to post
- production systems in terms of schedules and all other working templates as presented by Line Manager
Report any system or technical issues to IT, Engineering and Post - Supervisor
Ensure that all Post Production workstations are tidy and in order at all times
**Requirements**:
Matric plus a relevant certificate/diploma/degree in a field related to television production.
Min 2 - 3 years post-production coordinator experience
Experience in a live environment will be an added advantage
Excellent organization skills and ability to take initiative
Be efficient and active, able to attend to any issues like the speed of lighting
Great attention to detail and multitasking skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good computer skills and Editing software is an added advantage.
Sound troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work under pressure and stay calm when things go wrong.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Possess strong fundamental understanding of video and audio production equipment and capabilities
Willingness to work varied shifts
