The Head Office of MRoA is in Johannesburg, with a client service Life office situated in Cape Town.

The Product and Pricing department ensures profitable reassurance business across South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa which adds to the value of new business and embedded value by pricing appropriately, monitoring experience, managing terms of trade across all benefits and leads a team of dynamic pricing actuaries.

The In-force Management Team, which is part of the Product and Pricing Team, focuses on reviewing all individual life treaties and monitoring profitability of the Life team for both individual and group treaties.

Your job
- Perform experience reviews and pricing for all regions to manage profitability
- Collaborate with other areas of the business to investigate and understand drivers of profitability. This includes valuations, other pricing teams, the basis development team, underwriting, claims and business development.
- This role falls within the in force management team which has a key focus on in force reviews, but would also perform new business pricing and support new initiatives and product development.
- Ensure that Munich Re’s actuarial and risk management standards are met in the experience investigations pricing activities carried out.
- Lead/participate in the various projects undertaken by the life team as they arise e.g. but not limited to tenders, specific client projects and experience analyses.
- Coordinate with client managers, underwriting, claims and operations to deliver product propositions.
- Support client management strategy e.g. perform research for and accompany client managers as functional expert.
- Support Head of Product and Pricing, the Technical Pricing Team Lead and the In-Force Management Pricing Team Lead in providing high quality actuarial consulting service to clients in the area of pricing, product development and risk management.
- Ensure optimal process efficiency

**Profile**:

- 4+ years relevant experience in Life reinsurance or insurance business
- Newly or nearly qualified actuary
- Pricing Experience with sound technical understanding of Life products including mortality and morbidity rate setting and experience
- Good experience with actuarial modelling packages, Excel, VBA, SQL, Power BI
- Good verbal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
