The Senior Financial Analyst - Africa will report to the Finance Manager Africa. This role will be responsible to implement the commercial/finance function and support the planning, reporting, internal and external analytics for the whole Africa business team as well as helping to formulate long-term strategies for the various sub-regions.

The Senior Financial Analyst - Africa will provide timely and impactful commercial/financial analytics to support our commercial, brand, and business development initiatives across Africa. The role will also support the various distributor relationships, corresponding commercial set-ups and value chains and will help to focus on balanced value/volume growth in order to achieve challenging performance goals in an Emerging market environment. The Africa region (often also described as Sub-Saharan Africa) consists of approximately 50 countries.

What You Can Expect- Value Chain Analysis, pricing & profitability

Utilize price structure to build value chain analysis by country/channel/ and search for business opportunities to maximize profit including pricing levers, discounting and channel strategy, and route-to-consumer efficiency.

Develop and maintain actionable analyses and reports to drive understanding of profitability across all relevant dimensions: channels, customer, brand and SKUs to support commercial decision making.

Model and forecast P&Ls for new product developments in order to ensure correct pricing decisions. Review current pricing over all relevant dimensions.- Reporting & Business reviews

Utilize P&L by country to perform Quarterly/Monthly Business reviews with Marketing & Commercial team to identify areas to improve profitability. Analyzes and explains variances versus planned results.

Use external resources such as Nielsen or other resources to support finance/commercial decisions and investments.

Perform deep dive analysis for countries, brands, channels, clients using internal and external information to understand the performance of the business and identify business opportunities- Discount & Brand investment effectiveness (ROI)

Lift analysis to define expected lift for promotional activities (Pre-promotion) as well as actual lift calculation after promotions have concluded. Support brand teams with reports and analyses to understand the effectiveness of brand building activities to maximize the exploitation of long term brand potential.- Planning and Forecasting

Support the monthly forecasting processes in close cooperation with all functions within the region. Manage all steps necessary in this key financial process in order to ensure superior resource allocation. Develop and maintain long-term business models in order to facilitate strategy formulation.- Distributor Management

Assist in management of distributor relations. Monitor distributor performance by analyzing distributor sales data and by tracking compliance with performance and incentive metrics. Liaise with counterparts at distributor concerning operational management of the distribution agreement: data interchange, supply / demand forecasting, reimbursements, periodic activity reconciliations.- Sales & Cost analysis

Assist brand teams in understanding sales performance by brand and channel with an eye to opportunities and issues and assist in the development of sales enhancement strategies.

Control and understand selling, general and administrative expenses, so they can be optimized and effectively allocated to activities and cost owners (departments, brands, channels)- Revenue Growth Management

Work closely and collaboratively with sales teams in managing pricing by adhering to the pricing process including interpreting and standardizing price structures. Preparing analysis and recommendations for all price changes for approval. Support teams in deployment of RGM strategy and implementation of RGM initiatives.- Reporting

Create and implement dashboard reports that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items and effectively frame decisions to be made. Monitor monthly Shipments/Depletions and distributor inventory. Provide monthly analysis for discounting, SNS and GP analysis. Review T&E and SG&A monthly; identify and communicate reasons for variances and follow-up action steps.

What You Bring to the Table- A Proven track record in an international / global company as business analyst or management accountant. Prefer experience in FMCG industry.- Excellent general PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps), advanced or expert level user of Microsoft Excel, familiar with enterprise software (SAP or similar), database tools (MS Access) and business intelligence tools (BW, Business Objects or similar)- Superior oral and written communications skills including fluency in the English language, with the ability to clearly d
