Head of Department: IT Infrastructure and Cyber

The HoD: IT Infrastructure will be responsible for leading the infrastructure teams, managing data center operations, network architecture, and cybersecurity initiatives. The role involves overseeing IT infrastructure projects to ensure alignment with business needs while maintaining operational excellence, efficiency, and security. This position reports directly to the Divisional CIO and focuses on operational execution rather than strategic direction.

**Position Overview**:
**Specific Role Responsibilities**:

- **Infrastructure Management**:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Motus Mobility Solutions’ IT infrastructure, including data centres, networks, storage, and cloud environments.
- **Cybersecurity Oversight**:
Ensure infrastructure security by implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity frameworks that comply with organizational standards and relevant regulations such as POPIA.
- **Project Management**:
Lead infrastructure-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and coordination with other departments, such as software development and business operations. Coordinate special projects as assigned by the Divisional CIO.
- **Team Leadership**:
Manage and develop the IT infrastructure team, fostering collaboration and innovation while ensuring team members are aligned with business goals and have the skills needed to perform their duties effectively.
- **Service and Vendor Management**:
Manage relationships with third-party infrastructure service providers and vendors to ensure efficient service delivery. Oversee the monitoring and improvement of service-level agreements (SLAs) with external partners.
- **Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity**:
Ensure proper disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place for all critical infrastructure components, conducting regular tests and reviews.
- **IT Operations**:
Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring system availability, performance, and scalability. Implement monitoring tools to proactively detect and address any infrastructure issues.
- **Cost Management**:
Prepare and manage the infrastructure budget, optimizing costs while ensuring high availability and performance of IT systems.
- **Compliance and Best Practices**:
Ensure that all infrastructure systems comply with regulatory standards and internal policies. Maintain a focus on continual improvement and the adoption of industry best practices.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Grade 12/Matric
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or certifications in IT Infrastructure or Cybersecurity would be advantageous
- At least 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with 5+ years in a leadership role
- Strong experience in managing data centres, networks, and cybersecurity operations
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure or AWS), enterprise networking, cybersecurity protocols, and IT infrastructure tools. Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and practices is essential
- Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations and on-premises hardware refreshes
- Project Management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 would be beneficial
