It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focusses on retail products, as well as group schemes. What will you do?

Lead actuary for Group Scheme pricing

Manager junior actuarial staff
Provide financial information and projections to support potential new business and partnerships
Review team calculations and conduct presentations where required

Lead actuary for key strategic projects

Conduct the necessary research and contribute towards strategy and approach for implementing key strategic project
Provide input into implementation of products (including website/app client journey)
Provide input into marketing strategy to target specific markets
Leverage data to derive insights to drive strategy
Monitor product performance and conduct adhoc investigations as part of actuarial product development cycle

Qualification & experience

Qualified Actuary (passed all exams)
At least five years’ experience in product development or valuations of which two years in a managerial role
