**Main Purpose of the Job**:

- Execution of operational activities related to Exports, Port Operations and Imports, liaising with services providers, ensuring that all shipments are executed efficiently and cost effectively.**Key Responsibilities**:
**Operations**:

- Execute the logistics processes, to ensure client needs are met in a timeous manner.
- Check compliance with the countries customs, shipping regulations, quality requirements and safety procedures, and confirm with Logistics Controller or Coordinator if in order.
- Prepare shipping documentation for custom purposes.
- Execute all activities related to the logistics for customers.
- Communicate with the Freight Forwarders in respect of specific transport movements.
- Check that client requirements are met to the service level agreed and proactively communicate any potential issues, to the Logistics Controller or Coordinator.
- Provide quick and responsive service.
- Build relationships with the upstream and downstream supply chain, external service providers and clients.
- Check that all quality, safety and environment system controls are complied with, and confirm with the Logistics Controller or Coordinator if in order.
- Update weekly/ monthly reports as required for internal and external reporting.
- Compile the shipment file and consolidate invoices. Hand shipment file to Logistics Controller to finalise

**Import and Port Operations**:

- Imports- Execute imports processes efficiently
- Check shipment documentation for correctness for imports and confirm with Logistics Controller or Coordinator (INCO terms; values; Tariff codes etc.)
- Clearance and delivery of shipment in compliance with the countries customs, shipping regulations, quality requirements and safety procedures.
- Update weekly/ monthly reports as required for internal and external reporting.

**Supplier Relationships and Maintenance**:

- Build relationships with suppliers and Freight Forwarders.
- Site visits, accompanied by Supervisor/ Manager to Service Providers especially new and local service providers

**Query Resolution**:

- Ensure assigned queries are resolved within KPI.
- Effective query resolution, to avoid reoccurrence

**General Admin**:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform any other tasks related to the overall objective of the position.
- Maintain an auditable document trail as per procedures**Inherent Requirements**

**Qualification, skills & attributes**:

- Matric and Relevant diploma or degree would be advantageous.
- 2 - 4 years working experience in a relative role - Position is mostly export focused
- Focus on customer satisfaction
- Good interpersonal skills to be able to deal with both service providers and customers
- Problem solving skills
- Experience in freight forwarding industry
- Experience gained from supply chain, logistics, transportation and forwarding.
- Planning, organising and controlling skills
- Ability to manage time, operationally driven and results focused
- Attention to detail
- Experience with Word & Excel
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail.
