MANCOSA, a DHET registered and CHE accredited private higher education distance education provider, offering undergraduate and Postgraduate Education qualifications, has the following vacancy available: Postgraduate Academic Programme Coordinator: Gender Education Honours.

CORE PURPOSE

To co-ordinate of all academic activities, staff, students’ progress and to quality assure the overall academic delivery of the Bachelor of Education Honours programme in Gender Education.

CORE FUNCTIONS
- Coordination of academic delivery of the overall programme.
- Review the modules, staff development and student progress.
- Review of content within module guides, online materials and assessments.
- Undertake programme and quality management administrative tasks as required.
- Review, and analyse, student success and pass rates and identify students at-risk and provide assistance.
- Assist with the allocation of staff and module co-ordinators semesterly.
- Collaborate with the Research Department regarding allocation of supervisors and examiners.
- Collaborate across departments.
- Assist with the admission of students into the programme.
- Attend and present at scheduled meetings.
- Strategic planning and the introduction of 21st Century Learning initiatives.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A Master’s Degree in the specialisation area: Gender Education. A PhD is preferred.
- At least 2/3 years of co-ordination/management experience in a similar role.
- School based and CAPS experience, teaching Gender for at least 5 years

- Be familiar with using Learning Management Systems.
- Have a working knowledge of the South African higher education regulatory framework.
- Must be able to speak confidently and demonstrate professionalism.
- Must be a collegial team player.
- Excellent writing and reporting skills.
- Possess a high level of ethics and maintain confidentiality.
