**Job Description: Fixed Income Analyst**

Purpose of the Role

The Fixed Income Analyst researches and analyses debt, bonds, fixed-income securities and other financial instruments to make recommendations to Portfolio Managers regarding possible investment strategies. You will research and evaluate market conditions and analyse trends to track risk factors, including credit and interest rate risk. This information will be used to make decisions on which securities to buy or sell. You will also monitor the performance of these securities and provide reports to internal stakeholders.

Job Duties
- Conduct credit analyses on various companies to provide Portfolio Managers with information and recommendations on whether or not to purchase debt.
- Build, update and maintain financial models to complete valuations of bonds, companies etc.
- Conduct research for various investment cases.
- Generate bespoke client reports and presentations while ensuring the integrity of the data provided.
- Assist with the automation and improvement of data collection and presentation.
- Complete various projects.
- Support the Client Services and Distribution team with various client reporting and presentation requests.
- Communicate professionally to build relationships with stakeholders.

**Qualifications**
- Actuary or part Actuary is preferred
- Engineer with strong modelling skills is another alternative

**Experience and Skills**
- Exposure to portfolio performance and quantitative analysis within a similar environment is preferred
- Coding skills with VBA, Python, R
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- An ability to understand and interpret data
- Knowledge of various asset classes is preferred
- A strong interest in investments and the financial markets

**Salary**: R12,713.23 - R42,748.68 per month
