The role:
Summary:
The HR Officer will provide operational support to the HR department in terms of employee relations, compliance management, the execution of HR projects and policy and process improvements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Compliance Management (25%):

- Manage the HR team’s governance, compliance and risk management by adhering to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
- Take responsibility for Employment Equity reporting and develop suggestions for HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition teams to achieve our EE Plan.
- Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Manage an HR Compliance Specialist who offers support in compliance coordination and audits.

Employee Relations (50%):

- Facilitate and manage Employee Relations matters on behalf of the HR team.
- Create corrective action and performance improvement plans for disciplinary and performance interventions.
- Attend hearings and CCMA cases on behalf of the business.

Reporting and Process Improvement (25%):

- Act as a custodian for all HR policies and procedures and execute regular audits and improvements by keeping abreast of best practices and standards.
- Manage employee data reporting for the HR Business Partners in order for the HR and Executive teams to make data-driven decisions.
- Research and implement new initiatives, processes and policies.

**Requirements**:

- Qualification in Labour Relations or similar field
- 2-3 years experience in a HR Officer related role
- Former team management experience is required
- Experience in school environment preferable
