**Purpose of the Role**:
The primary objective of this role is to support and enhance the Corporate Services Department (CSD) Demand Programme by appointing an experienced Senior Project Manager. This individual will lead the full project lifecycle — from front-loading to execution and closure — by effectively planning, organising, and managing resources. Delivery must align with the customer’s approved project management methodologies, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to defined specifications.
Key Responsibilities
**Project Initiation & Planning**:
Define project scope and develop work breakdown structures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Clarify and align CSD programme priorities, activities, and required resources with business units and stakeholders.
Assess project readiness and potential impact, identifying any risks or barriers to execution.
Develop comprehensive project management plans, including stakeholder engagement, training, communication, and change management strategies.
**Project Execution & Control**:
Lead and manage project scheduling, execution, performance monitoring, and closure.
Coordinate team activities to ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery of project outputs.
Oversee project expenditure and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Track risks, issues, and changes, ensuring necessary approvals are obtained.
**Team & Stakeholder Management**:
Establish and lead the project team with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
Foster a safe and collaborative environment, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Represent project interests within broader organisational and Agile transformation efforts
**Quality & Reporting**:
Monitor output quality, capture lessons learned and implement improvement initiatives.
Ensure all project documentation, reports, and deliverables are completed, reviewed, and maintained timely manner.
Collaborate with specialists to develop project materials and content.
Provide regular project updates and performance reports to stakeholders and governance bodies.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 7).
Recognised Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2).
At least 5-8 years’ experience in project or programme management.
Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and lifecycle management.
