- This position forms part of the nGAP iniative and the incumbent will benefit from a reduced workload in the first three to four years. _The additional time available will be dedicated to achieving the teaching and research development goals outlined by the nGAP_**_._**

The incumbent can work towards the completion of either a PhD or a postdoc._**The incumbent will be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in the Philosophy Department through the following:
- Teaching and administrating undergraduate modules;- Recruiting and supervising postgraduate students;- Conducting active research with sustained accredited publication in their research focus area/s;- Involvement in and contribution to the broader philosophy community (academic citizenship);-
- Developing national and international research collaborations and networks;- Participation in administrative service delivery at departmental, Faculty and University level.

Die posbekleër kan die tyd gebruik om óf 'n PhD óf 'n postdoc te voltooi._**Die posbekleër sal betrokke wees by die voorgraadse en nagraadse onderrig en navorsing in die Departement Filosofie deur middle van die volgende:- Voorgraadse modules te doseer en te administreer;-
- Die werwing en studiebegeleiding van nagraadse studente;-
- Aktiewe navorsing met volgehoue geakkrediteerde publikasie in hul navorsingsfokusarea/s;-
- Betrokkenheid by en bydraes tot die breër filosofie-gemeenskap (akademiese burgerskap);-
- Doen aansoek vir navorsingsbefondsing;-
- Die ontwikkeling van nasionale en internasionale navorsingsamewerkings en ¿netwerke;-
- Deelname aan administratiewe dienslewering op departementele, fakulteits
- en universiteitsvlak.Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- MA in philosophy with a final mark of at least 70%;- Must be a South African citizen;- Must be 40 years old or younger;- An excellent academic record;- Teaching experience in philosophy on at least the level of teaching assistant at tertiary level;-
