**ATTORNEY**

**JOB DESCRIPTION -**

MASAV SA, is currently seeking to employ an attorney with 10 years’ experience, to join their boutique practice that exclusively serves corporate clients.

The practice requires someone who is knowledgeable, attentive and proactive. Someone who is an excellent communicator, negotiator, public speaker and problem solver.

The responsibilities associated with this position, are:

- Providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to the group of companies on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business sector and their products or services;
- Managing all litigious matters including drafting pleadings, notices and affidavits;
- Representing clients in court with formal court appearances;
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements;
- Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures;
- Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, practice directives, rules and regulations;
- Strategizing on how to resolve the clients’ cases in a favourable and cost-effective manner;
- Drafting and vetting legal letters and agreements;
- Attending to general legal queries;
- Legal opinions and research.

**Requirements for this position**:

- B.Com Law, LLB
- 5 - 8 years’ experience post articles;
- Must be an admitted & practising attorney;
- Must be able to obtain a Fidelity Fund Certificate as required by the LPC;
- Must be working within a recognized law firm;
- Must have sound understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law;
- Must have the ability to work in a highly autonomous role.

**Salary**: R50,000.00 - R60,000.00 per month
