Duties/Pligte- The installation, daily maintenance, and monitoring of computer systems and servers within the Faculty of Engineering (this position may require after hours work from time to time);- Providing technical support to mostly undergraduate and some postgraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering and carrying out administrative tasks as required;- Proactively identifying potential problems and finding solutions;- Understanding the software imaging process and the rolling out of software images to computers;- Die installering, daaglikse instandhouding en monitering van rekenaarstelsels en bedieners binne die Fakulteit Ingenieurswese (hierdie pos kan van tyd tot tyd na-uurse werk vereis);- Die verskaffing van tegniese ondersteuning aan meestal voorgraadse en sommige nagraadse studente in die Fakulteit Ingenieurswese en die uitvoering van administratiewe take soos vereis;- Proaktiewe identifikasie van potensiële probleme en vind oplossings;- Begrip van sagteware-beeldingsproses en die uitrol van sagtewarebeelde na rekenaars;- Gebruik van oudiovisuele toerusting en toepassings. Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- Matric with an IT Technical Support qualification in Windows/Linux;- An IT (Information Technology) qualification of either L+ (Linux) A+, N+ (Network), or S+ (Security) with preference for a L+ qualification;- At least two or more years' experience in an IT Systems Administrator role;- At least two or more years' relevant experience in Linux or Windows system administration and the configuration of Linux/Windows client computers;- The ability to take the lead in solving technical problems completely independently;- The ability to work effectively in a team, as well as independently;- Excellent interpersonal skills;- The ability to effectively transfer knowledge to colleagues;- The ability to function within a multilingual environment.Matriek met 'n IT Tegniese Ondersteuningskwalifikasie in Windows/Linux;- 'n IT (Inligtingstegnologie) kwalifikasie van óf L+ (Linux) A+, N+ (Netwerk), óf S+ (Sekuriteit) met voorkeur vir 'n L+-kwalifikasie;- Minstens twee of meer jaar se ervaring in 'n IT Stelseladministrateur rol;- Minstens twee of meer jaar se toepaslike ervaring in Linux of Windows stelseladministrasie en die konfigurasie van Linux/Windows kliënt rekenaars;- Die vermoë om leiding te neem en tegniese probleme heeltemal onafhanklik op te los;- Die vermoë om effektief in 'n span, sowel as onafhanklik te werk;- Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede;- Die vermoë om kennis effektief aan kollegas oor te dra;- Die vermoë om binne 'n veeltalige omgewing te funksioneer. Recommendation/Aanbeveling- Experience with a Scripting language;- Knowledge of containerisation / virtualisation of Linux/Windows systems;- Proven competence in the administration of Linux/Windows servers;- - The ability to communicate in Afrikaans.Ervaring met 'n Skriftaal ("Scripting language");- Kennis van "containerisation"/virtualisering van Linux/Windows stelsels;- Bewese bevoegdheid in die administrasie van Linux/Windows-bedieners;- Ervaring in die gebruik van oudiovisuele toerusting en toepassings;- Die vermoë om in Afrikaans te kommunikeer.
