**_ Position Purpose:_**
Responsible to support, consult, provide solution to the business and interpret the People Management strategies, policies,
guidelines in line with the Human Resources Value Chain.
**_Position outputs:_**
Functional Management
- Deliver comprehensive and professional People Management services to departments and functions within the Transnet
Property
- Contribute to, and monitor the implementation of People Management policies, processes and practices and ensure line
managers are up to date with the latest versions
- Manage the Transnet Property‘s recruitment, performance, and talent and succession management processes, monitor
compliance thereto, and report trends.
- Ensure speedy and effective resolution of issues and response to queries.
- Conduct recruitment, selection and placement to ensure the acquisition of the required skills in line with business needs,
ensuring optimal turnaround times
- Monitor absenteeism, disciplinaries, grievances, and climate within the Property. Identify areas that require attention and
report findings to the Senior HRBP
- Advise line managers on people management issues and promote the creation of an environment that emphasises
collaboration, quality and performance
- Deal with people issues using both People Management and organisational knowledge, thereby demonstrating the required
competence
- Ensure compliance with People Management policies and legislation, and escalate consistent non-compliance to the Senior
HRBP
- Participate in the development of the workforce plan for the Transnet Property as required, and in collaboration with the
Talent Acquisition team, execute recruitment plans in line with the workforce plan, EE targets and defined budget, and
- Provide recommendations and implement solutions to motivate, develop and retain employees
- In collaboration with Employee Relations, assist leadership and management with resolving employee relations issues,
conducting investigations and recommending appropriate courses of action
- Identify and recommend the need for tactical and/or strategic interventions where required
Service Delivery
- Implement initiatives that support the creation of a customer centric environment and that promote a culture of service
delivery excellence within People Management as directed
- Identify operational business risks and monitor the implementation of approved mitigating plans and actions
- Recommend solutions when required through an understanding of the business context and the ability to integrate People
Management with business requirements
- Manage work priorities in the face of project completion deadlines and ongoing service delivery requirements
- Use enabling technology and data analytics for the identification of People Management issues, developing of effective
solutions and for provision of accurate and meaningful information to Transnet Property
of People Management knowledge and expertise
- Report trends in absenteeism, disciplinaries, grievances and climate through the use of people data analytics
- Coach and advise line managers on people issues and promote the creation of an environment that emphasises
empowerment, collaboration, performance, and the achievement of objectives
- Facilitate the adoption of the Transnet core values at all levels
Stakeholder Relations Management
- Establish and maintain sound relationships with managers, employees and relevant stakeholders
- Build rapport with line managers and employees through consistent engagement to support effective stakeholder relations
management
- Governance and Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Transnet and People Management governance, policies and practices as well as
relevant legislation and regulatory requirements on an ongoing basis
- Safeguard good governance of People Management service delivery by ensuring compliance to relevant legislation and
alignment with Transnet People Management policies and governance requirements
