As an Executive Search and Career Consultant specializing in the niche market of Supply Chain, I represent some of the top leaders and am called upon by blue chip organizations in the country to secure talent and assist them in building high performance teams.

One such client of mine is a Global Resourcing Company and they are looking for a MRP Controller - Replenishment to be based at their South African Head Office in Johannesburg.

The incumbent of this position will be responsible for coordination and execution of activities relating to the planning and procurement of raw materials and components, converting the output of master production schedules and detailed schedules into material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of stock to production lines when needed.

Key Performance Areas:

- Responsible to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness of materials requirement planning in support of company operational objectives
- Review MRP shortage and replenishment reports and raise purchase requisition to procurement to ensure availability of raw materials to support production schedules and customer orders
- Balance proactively on raw materials demand and supply by rescheduling open purchase orders and acting decisively on MRP communications and alerts
- Manage short-term raw materials usage abnormality, identifying root causes and proposing solutions for improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

- Tertiary Qualification/ Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma (Supply chain management & warehousing certificate, Inventory management, Engineering, Commerce)

Minimum Experience:

- At least 5-7 Years’ experience in materials supply function in a heavy industry/ mining setting, with specific experience in MRP functions
- Knowledge of and experience in SAP
