Reservations Consultant

Simbavati is a hospitality management company based in Rosebank, Johannesburg. We are looking for an enthusiastic reservations consultant to join our growing team to assist us with incoming booking enquiries and reservations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Handles inbound reservations and making regular bookings
- Ensures that profiles of arriving guests are updated on system.
- Deals with agent or guest complaints relating to bookings and informs the Reservations Manager.
- Assist with managing the marketing descriptions of properties for corporate interaction and ensure they are updated with correct information.
- Build relationships with trusted corporate/leisure partners and agents
- Manage channel managers and property management systems as required and allocated by Reservations/Revenue Manager

Communication
- Ensures that confirmations of bookings are completed and sent out promptly.
- Responds to initial enquiries and requests within 4 hours.
- Liaises with departments and provides an update on arrivals, groups, special requests and functions etc.
- Maintains good communication channels with other departments.
- Handle any guest complaints where necessary or refer to the Reservations/Revenue Manager.

Financial
- Ensures pro-forma invoices are sent out in time to guests.
- Follows up with guests on payment of invoices.
- Assists with the maintenance and control of payment and commission procedures for all reservations.
- Manages waiting lists and provisional reservations in order to optimize occupancy and revenue

**Requirements**:
Knowledge
- Grade 12
- Travel and Tourism Certificate (Advantageous)
- minimum 1 - 3 years Reservations experience
- Own transport (Advantageous)
